From 7 to 10 February 2022, the student representatives of OSCAR organised an online scientific writing workshop. The presenters Mark Buchanan and Justin Mullins from WriteAboutScience gave useful insides into the editorial process at a journal, and shared their broad expertise as former journal editors and authors of several publications.

The three days were full of discussions about a wide range of topics, like structuring abstracts or efficiently organising the whole writing process for a journal article. A group work introduced the students to writing an abstract in a team and how to collectively edit the result. Throughout the workshop, the presenters emphasized the importance of editing and how it builds the basis for a successful writing.
