Zlata Fedorova receives the PhD Prize 2023 of the Foundation Physics and Astronomy in Bonn

We congratulate Zlata Fedorova on receiving the PhD Prize 2023 of the Foundation Physics and Astronomy in Bonn for her dissertation "Simulation of time-periodic and topological tight-binding systems with plasmonic waveguide arrays". The award is funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation.
Zlata Fedorova investigated how Floquet driving can be utilized to tailor the topological and transport properties of one-dimensional tight-binding lattices. Among other things, she developed a new method to realize quantized transport in a so-called Thouless pump by introducing tailored losses. Her thesis project was embedded in Collaborative Research Center SFB/TR 185 "OSCAR" as part of research area C.
