Welcome to our midst!

In a few weeks you will be starting your studies with us in Kaiserslautern. You have made a conscious decision to study physics - we would like to congratulate you on this! You will be starting your studies at one of the 4 best places to study physics in Germany - according to the latest university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE).
Physicists, biophysicists, technophysicists and physics teachers are in great demand on the job market. Your Bachelor's, Master's or Diploma degree will open up many opportunities for which your training with us will provide you with excellent preparation.

You will most likely have some questions in the near future. To make it as easy as possible for you to get started, we will provide you with some information already today.

Dates and courses are listed in the information system (KIS)  of the university. There you will also find the times and rooms of your lectures and tutorials.

Preparation courses

Our advice: Take advantage of our offer and refresh your math skills in advance!

  • Online-Mathematik Brückenkurs @ RPTU: The free online mathematics bridge course, which was developed in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics at RPTU, is ideal for independent preparation for your studies. You can find further information on the website of the Department of Mathematics of the RPTU.
  • Mathematics pre-courses take place at the start of the semester, but before the actual start of lectures. You will always find up-to-date information here.

Welcome by the student representatives - The Physics Student Council

The Physics Student Council organizes a variety of introductory weeks every semester in parallel to the preliminary mathematics course. In addition to many helpful information events, these serve in particular to get to know your future fellow students and the campus better. Further information can be found here!
