Testnews: CHE ranking - TUK performs well in natural and sports science

Attention, this is only a test news!

Biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics, for example, are among the top performers in Germany according to various criteria. The complete ranking is published in the current issue of Studienführer.

For example, the subjects of biology, computer science, mathematics and physics achieved very good scores in the category "support at the beginning of studies". For example, computer scientists give very good marks to the courses on offer and the situation. In addition, they appreciate the vocational orientation offers. In mathematics, for example, very good scores in the categories of study organisation, courses on offer and science orientation lead to a position in the top field. In addition, prospective biologists and chemists are very satisfied with the way in which specialist skills are taught at the TUK. Chemistry and mathematics can position themselves in the top group in the category "Degrees in reasonable time". Chemistry is also among the leaders in terms of study organisation.

Computer science and mathematics students in particular are satisfied with the general study situation. The latter also appreciate the "supervision by teachers". Physics also scores well in this respect, with students also classifying its facilities as very good. The English-language Master's programme "Advanced Quantum Physics" also ranked among the top German courses in the category "International Orientation of Studies & Teaching". In addition, mathematics ranks in the top group in the category "research funds per scientist" in addition to the physics department, which has a strong research focus; as does sports science in the category "scientific publications".

The CHE ranking compares more than 30 subjects. Each subject is re-evaluated every three years. This year, the focus was on subjects from the natural sciences and sports science that are relevant for the TU Kaiserslautern. Different categories are used for comparison per subject.

The basis for the ranking is a combination of surveys of professors and students as well as a fact-finding survey of the faculties in which the average duration of study and the number of graduates are asked.
