adding an extraordinary spouse program on Saturday (including a guided tour in English language with Prof. Dr. Harald Bergner).

VACOM day (March 28, 2019)

The VACOM Day will take place on the Thursday before the event (28 March 2019) and will start at 12.30 pm.

Tutorial “Classic vs. Quantum Based SI Units” (March 31, 2019)

Together with the German Physical Society (DPG), the German Vacuum Society (DVG)
organizes a tutorial on March 31 4 pm – 6.30 pm at the University Regensburg (Universitätsstraße 31, 93040 Regensburg, Germany).

There will be given two to three talks with focus on “Classic vs. Quantum Based SI Units”.

The first talk will be delivered by Dr. Jay Hendricks (NIST) on pressure units.

ECM members can participate in the tutorial and the Day of Vacuum for 90 €.

Your booking at Sorat Hotel can be extended for the extra night (107 € single room, 154 € double room; Prices including breakfast).

Please note, that your personal data will be transferred to the German Physical Society.

Day of Vacuum (April 1, 2019)

On Monday, April 1, 2019, the Day of Vacuum at the University Regensburg (Universitätsstraße 31, 93040 Regensburg, Germany) will take place.

This day is organized by the vacuum division of the German Physical Society together with the German Vacuum Society.

The Day of Vacuum will be opened with a plenary talk by the president of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) Prof. Dr. Joachim H. Ullrich. Then the sessions under the topic “Metrology is the key for success in research and industry” will start. As invited speaker Dr. Karl Jousten (PTB) will give a 45 min talk, followed by interesting talks about new ideas for measurement, challenges and applications. A panel discussion will conclude the Event.

  • Accommodation for two nights including breakfast
  • Italian evening on Friday, 29 March
  • Lunch and Conference dinner in the Regensburger Ratskeller on Saturday, 30 March
  • Coffee breaks during ECM-129

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Registration cancellation and/or refund requests must be made in writing to the ECM129 Local Organizing Committee.

  • For cancellations postmarked on or before 23:59 (CET), 16 February 2019, 100% of the registration fee will be refunded less handling fee.
  • For cancellations requested after 16 February 2019, only 50% of the registration fee will be refunded less handling fee.
  • For cancellations made on or after 00:01 (CET), 01 March 2019, no fees will be refunded.

Refunds will be issued after the ECM.
