The research groups of Prof. Widera and Prof. Ott have together been granted more than seven million euros for the construction of a quantum computer demonstrator within the project Rymax. Together with colleagues from Hamburg, the Fraunhofer ITWM, and a wide variety of companies from the fields of laser technology and optics, electronics, and software design, the Rymax project is being funded by the BMBF with a total of 25 million euros. The project aims to efficiently solve industrially relevant optimization problems with a novel quantum processor consisting of Rydberg atoms.
