Our intensive week on Laser cooling from Oct. 17-21 successfully conveyed basics and advanced topics on laser technology, spectroscopy and laser cooling in theory and experiment to ten participants from six different countries. The week was supported by Kaiserslautern university via a project “Lehre Plus”, the graduate school of Excellence “Materials science in Mainz” and the newly established transregional collaborative research center “Open system control with atomic and photonic matter” together with the University of Bonn.
